Job summary

Pelico is seeking a software engineer to design and build internal AI agents that automate workflows across Sales, HR, Operations, and Finance. You will develop AI-powered tools to help teams work faster and make smarter decisions.

You will create end-to-end AI workflows connecting LLM APIs, internal data sources, and operational systems, while building backend services in Python and FastAPI to support these tools.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of experience as a software engineer.
• Proficient in Python; familiar with TypeScript and basic frontend concepts.
• Experience building applications, APIs, or internal tools.
• Experience integrating multiple systems and APIs.
• Curious about AI tools, LLMs, and automation.
• Experience with AI development frameworks.
• Ability to move quickly and deliver practical solutions.
• Strong problem-solving and autonomous work style.
• Comfort collaborating with non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience building internal productivity tools.
• Nice to have: AI agents or automation tools; startup background.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for automation and AI augmentation.
• Contribute to Pelico’s internal AI stack, helping define best practices for building and deploying AI-powered tools.

Requirements

• 3-7 years of experience as a software engineer
• Strong programming skills in Python and exposure to TypeScript and basic frontend concepts, as you'll occasionally need to build or tweak the UIs for our internal tools.
• Experience building applications, APIs, or internal tools
• Comfortable integrating multiple systems and APIs
• Curious about AI tools, LLMs, and automation
• Experience experimenting with AI coding tools or AI development frameworks
• Able to move quickly and build practical solutions, rather than aiming for perfect systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced startup environment
• Comfortable collaborating with non-technical stakeholders
• You actively embrace AI tools as part of how you work — curious about what’s possible and quick to adopt new ways of working smarter and faster
