A leading automotive company in Lyon is looking for an Aftersales Area Manager. This role includes overseeing dealer operations, ensuring compliance with brand policies, and managing aftersales performance. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in automotive aftersales, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in French and English. This position involves significant travel, approximately 80% of the time.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in automotive aftersales, preferably with an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
  • Strong knowledge of warranty processes and dealer operations.
  • Experience with CRM systems.

Key Results / Accountabilities expected from the role

Your main responsibility will be on the following missions :

Dealer Launch, Management & Compliance : Act as the primary contact to align dealer operations with brand policies and objectives; coordinate dealer launches by ensuring all prerequisites, including training, tooling, access, and reporting, are met; collaborate with all stakeholders to support dealers in being ready for operation; ensure dealer standards compliance in accordance with HQ guidelines (workshop, environment, warehouse…); verify that dealers’ aftersales staff meet contractual requirements (quantity, quality, training…); provide hands‑on support to dealers, offering guidance on best practices and operational efficiencies.

Aftersales Performance & KPI Management : Conduct regular visits to the dealers within the assigned region to monitor operations and follow‑up dealer turnover performance against its targets; oversee the implementation of company‑defined aftersales strategies, ensuring target fulfillment in areas such as parts and accessories sales, staff training, technical & warranty service, customer retention, and satisfaction; track and analyze dealer performance metrics, including bonus, across aftersales functions to encourage commitment and target overachievement; monitor third‑party suppliers’ roll out, follow‑up, performance tracking (tires, lubricants, workshop equipment…); actively collect the market trends and aftersales policies of competing brands, identify improvement opportunities and propose improvement measures, to drive growth in aftersales business.

Customer Experience & Satisfaction : act as the primary liaison between the brand and dealers to facilitate smooth communications and resolve issues promptly; track and follow up of critical customer care cases and campaigns; identify potential needs for further technical assistance and drive dealer action plan based on mystery shopping and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) results.

Marketing Development : implement aftersales marketing activities within the region, provide localized support for dealers on aftersales marketing matters, gather and share feedback on marketing efforts, while proactively proposing new ideas.

Experience & Educational background & Expertise
  • Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in automotive aftersales, preferably with an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle service procedures, warranty processes, and dealer operations.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and aftersales management tools.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in both French and English.
