Job summary

Ingersoll Rand Air Solutions Hibon in Wasquehal seeks a Service Engineer to work on rotating equipment such as blowers and compressors, with a strong mechanical focus on-site in Wasquehal, Nord, France.

The role develops service business by implementing maintenance contracts and recurring revenue models, optimizing equipment performance and customer loyalty, while performing commissioning, diagnostics and field interventions.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in an industrial environment, ideally with rotating equipment.
• Professional level of English; willingness to travel frequently.
• Experience in service contract development or technical service sales is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Technical Expertise & Field Interventions (Mechanical focus).
• Perform commissioning of equipment on site.
• Diagnose and resolve failures, focusing on mechanical aspects (bearings, alignment, wear).
• Analyze machine performance (efficiency, overheating, deviations).
• Promote and sell services: maintenance, spare parts, retrofits, upgrades.
• Build and deploy maintenance contracts; develop recurring revenue streams.
• Support sales teams and develop technical proposals; train customers and partners.

Job Summary

The Service Engineer works on rotating equipment (blowers, compressors, vacuum systems) with a strong mechanical focus. Beyond technical activities, they actively contribute to the development of service business by implementing maintenance contracts and recurring revenue models, in order to optimize equipment performance and enhance customer loyalty.

• Develop recurring revenue streams

Responsibilities

• Technical Expertise & Field Interventions (Mechanical focus)
• Perform commissioning of equipment on site
• Diagnose and resolve failures, with a strong focus on mechanical aspects (kinematics, wear, bearings, alignment, etc.)
• Analyze machine performance (efficiency, overheating, operational deviations, etc.)
• Apply concepts of thermodynamics (compression, heat transfer, energy efficiency) to optimize installations
• Write detailed technical reports
• Service Business Development
• Identify additional revenue opportunities
• Promote and sell services: maintenance, spare parts, retrofits, upgrades
• Build and deploy maintenance contracts
• Develop recurring revenue streams
• Customer Relationship & Retention
• Act as the technical reference on site
• Build trusted relationships with customers
• Advise on optimal equipment operation
• Support the transition to planned maintenance models
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
• Continuous Improvement & Field Feedback
• Report recurring technical issues
• Propose product and maintenance improvements
• Contribute to structuring and standardizing service offerings
• Support the improvement of Service practices
• Internal Support
• Assist sales teams in promoting service solutions

• Train customers and partners on operation and maintenance

Basic Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in an industrial environment, ideally with rotating equipment
• Experience in service contract development or technical service sales is a strong advantage
• Professional level of English required
• Willingness to travel frequently

• Strong expertise in rotating machinery mechanics
