Overview

Aerospace Purchasing Category Manager Europe – Raw Material

Location: Châteauneuf Sur Isere, FR; Lons Le Saunier, FR; Villar Perosa (To), IT; Valenciennes Cedex, FR

Responsibilities
  • Define the Raw Material strategy for the European factories in collaboration with the other regions (US & Asia).
  • Drive the purchasing strategy development of the Raw Material and identify and execute regional synergies and cost-out opportunities to support all the Aerospace European factories in achieving defined cost targets.
  • Ensure that supplier bases are properly equipped with capacity/capability, standardized contracts, and competition models, as well as efficient/effective request-to-order processes.
  • Work closely with local purchasing organizations and stakeholders on strategic and tactical sourcing projects.
  • Inform stakeholders and the purchasing team about market trends, price changes, and developing response actions as necessary.
  • Implement and manage Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), including proactive risk mitigation, sustainability requirements, and global contract management.
  • Provide advice and guidance on structural change items, such as sustainability initiatives.
  • Support other departments (purchasing, supply chain and new projects, and sustainability teams) in their activities.
What we expect you to have

The ideal candidate combines a strong educational background, solid purchasing experience, and outstanding steel Raw Material skills. Knowledge of Aerospace is a plus.

  • M.Sc./B.Sc. Engineering/Business Administration
  • Proven experience in category management, sourcing, negotiation, and contracting in a multinational environment.

Some additional information

The position will be based at one of our main European sites: preferably in France (Valenciennes), with Lons-le-Saunier and Valence also under consideration. Alternatively, the role may be located in Villar Perosa, Italy. This position requires frequent travel (around 40%).
