GROUP TRANSPORT MANAGER (M/F)
Job description
Objective
- Arrange the transport of the Group’s goods to our customers and subsidiaries
- Manage regulatory compliance in relation to transport
- Continuously improve the service provided to customers and subsidiaries
- Ensure compliance with customs and regulatory requirements, particularly in relation to hazardous materials
Job description
- Selection of and negotiations with carriers and freight forwarders
- Assistance with the resolution of transport disputes
- Monitoring compliance with current regulations, standards and procedures applicable to the national and international transport of dangerous goods
- Definition and monitoring of the Group’s transport policy
- Customer service level guarantee
- Liaison with Customs authorities, Group liaison officer
The main tasks are:
Transport:
- Select, assess and list carriers and freight forwarders
- Support subsidiaries in selecting service providers and conducting negotiations regarding contracts, rates and transport terms, with a view to optimising costs and service quality
- Negotiate rates and ensure they are adhered to; keep the database up to date
- Draw up transport rates for the sales department and keep the database up to date
- To provide practical solutions to the challenges encountered in the preparation or execution of domestic and international shipments
- Identify and propose technical and organisational solutions that enable:
- to improve transport reliability
- to reduce costs and lead times
- to optimise groupage and load factors
- Assist in the resolution of transport disputes
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of logistics and transport processes
Reglementation:
- Monitor national and international transport regulations, particularly those relating to the transport of dangerous goods
- Raise awareness among subsidiaries and support them in implementing regulatory procedures
- To oversee the development of operations relating to ‘Known Consignor’ status and ensure compliance
Customs department contact:
- Organise and implement procedures for French and foreign customs authorities
- To act as the main point of contact for French and foreign customs authorities (authorised representative)
- Determine the costs, duties and taxes associated with imports and exports, and ensure they are applied correctlyTo study and implement international trade agreements and tariff preferences
- Populate the ERP system with regulatory and customs data
- Take part in audits and inspections carried out by the relevant authorities
- Establish and monitor Group-level transport performance indicators
Ideal candidate
Education and experience
- A degree (3 to 5 years of higher education) in transport, logistics, supply chain management or international trade, and/or significant experience in international transport and customs management.
Technical skills
- Expertise in international transport and customs regulations
- Knowledge of Incoterms
- Knowledge of the transport of dangerous goods
- Proficiency in ERP and office software
- Cost analysis capabilities and performance indicators
