Job summary

ALDIA, a multinational technology and engineering consultancy, seeks a 3D CAD Design Engineer to join its consultant team. The role focuses on CATIA v5 harness design, 3D data management with Teamcenter, and DMU routing in line with customer standards.

The position involves creating 3D CAD drafts for wiring harness components, supporting design reviews, and collaborating across sites in UK, France, Spain or Turkey.

Qualifications

• Experience with CATIA v5 for harness design.
• Experience with 3D data management using Teamcenter.
• Familiarity with DMU/CAe tools and P-FMEA/D-FMEA processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide design expertise on CATIA v5 for harness development.
• Manage 3D data and DMU routing according to customer standards.
• Prepare 3D CAD drafts for wiring harness components and assemblies.
• Support design reviews and prototyping activities at customer sites.
• Identify and resolve EDS design/manufacturing issues.
• Ensure routing/design is compatible with vehicle environment.

We are currently looking for a 3D CAD Design Engineerto join our team of consultants on an indefinite basis, located in UK, France, Spain or Turkey.

Responsibilities or duties:

• Design expertise on CATIA v5 for harness development
• 3D data management, example using Teamcenter
• Perform W/H DMU routing and layout package according to customer standards
• Create concept design studies utilising CAE tools and physical bucks
• Create Design Intention Sheets
• Perform and report on D-FMEA activities
• Prepare 2D mark-ups for implementation in the Design
• Perform and report on D-FMEA and P-FMEA activities
• Support design reviews, prototype harness and vehicle builds at company and customer locations.
• Identify, track and resolve EDS design and manufacturing issues.
• Ensure EDS routing and package design is compatible with vehicle environment
• Participate in TVM, VA/VE and benchmarking activities. Generate, review and evaluate potential cost reduction ideas.
• Carry out CAD assembly investigations together with the responsible project engineers in virtual vehicle assembly rooms and preparation of the corresponding documentation
• Apply the customer specifications and ensure DM conformity at the design level
• Preparation of 3D CAD design drafts for wiring harness components, e.g. cable channels, brackets and fixing parts as a basis for the detail design by the component supplier.
