Murex invites you to join the MACS Modelling team in Paris for a three-month internship in quantitative research and modelling. You will work on innovative valuation methods across asset classes, using Python and C++ to build prototypes and run experiments.
As a second-year Engineering or Computer Science student, you will review literature, implement models, benchmark methods, and collaborate with quantitative finance experts on challenging capital markets problems in a dynamic, international
Murex is a global fintech leader in trading, risk management and processing solutions for capital markets. Operating from our 19 offices, 3 400 Murexians from over 65 different nationalities ensure the development, implementation and support of our platform which is used by banks, asset managers, corporations and utilities, across the world. Join Murex and work on the challenges of an industry at the forefront of innovation and thrive in a people-centric environment. You’ll be part of one global team where you can learn fast and stay true to yourself.
You will join the MACS Modelling team, part of Murex Analytics, which designs and implements innovative and efficient valuation methods across asset classes, including equities, foreign exchange, commodities, credit and interest rates. The team combines financial modelling, numerical methods and software implementation to develop quantitative solutions supporting model calibration, financial instrument valuation and the calculation of risk measures such as sensitivities, VaR, PFE and XVA. Particular attention is paid to the accuracy, robustness and computational performance of the methods developed, including through the use of advanced technologies such as GPU computing. You will work closely with quantitative finance experts on topics at the intersection of academic research and industrial innovation, turning advanced modelling approaches into prototypes and solutions that can address real capital markets challenges.
Following an onboarding period covering the team's models, methodologies and development environment, you will contribute to a quantitative research and modelling project.
Depending on your assignment, you may:
These missions reflect the core activities present across the internship subjects: literature reviews, quantitative implementation, numerical experimentation, comparative analysis and performance assessment.
Internship assignments within MACS Modelling explore innovative quantitative methods designed to improve how complex financial instruments are modelled and valued. Depending on your assignment, you could investigate innovative neural network architectures for quantitative finance, study new Monte Carlo discretization schemes for rough volatility processes, or assess modelling approaches designed to capture interest-rate volatility smiles in an XVA context. Across these topics, the common challenge is to combine theoretical understanding, numerical accuracy and computational efficiency. Each assignment is built around a concrete research question. You will review recent academic literature, implement prototypes and compare alternative methodologies to assess their respective strengths, limitations and potential applications to financial modelling.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of Mathematics, Finance and Technology. By joining the MACS Modelling team, you will contribute to challenging quantitative projects at the frontier of academic research and industrial innovation. You will work alongside experts in quantitative finance and advanced modelling, exploring how cutting-edge methodologies can be transformed into robust solutions used by leading financial institutions worldwide. Beyond the technical aspects, you will gain exposure to a broad range of cross-asset modelling challenges, develop a strong understanding of capital markets, and evolve in an international, collaborative, and fast-learning environment where innovation plays a central role.
