ABC arbitrage in Paris, Opéra area, is seeking an experienced Core Platform engineer to join our five-person team. You will design and build core services in C#/.NET and maintain Python libraries across data and research ecosystems.
The role covers distributed systems, data infrastructure, and tooling to boost developer productivity, with up to 50% remote work. We value strong fundamentals, API design, and ownership from architecture to production.
Passionate about technology, we develop quantitative and systematic trading strategies across a wide range of asset classes and global financial markets. Technology, research, and data are the cornerstones of our business. Our strength? A collaborative culture that encourages us to challenge one another, learn together, and deliver strong performance year after year.
We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our five-person Core Platform team.
Core Platform designs and develops the technical foundations used by software and data engineers across ABC arbitrage and enables them to focus on their business challenges while relying on robust, performant and scalable platforms.
Its scope includes compute infrastructure, data systems, messaging, internal frameworks and APIs, as well as developer tooling designed to accelerate the development and operation of applications.
C#/.NET is the primary technology used to build our platform, while Python is a first-class interface to it.
As a Core Platform engineer, you will:
C#, Python, SQL, Cassandra, Redis, Mimir, Loki, Grafana, Airflow, Parquet/Iceberg, AWS (S3, Batch, EKS, Athena…), Kubernetes, Argo CD, Flux CD, GitLab, GitHub, Codex
We operate across both on-premise and cloud infrastructures and design our systems with performance, reliability and scalability in mind.
We also have a long history of building and contributing to open-source software.
You have 5 to 8 years of professional software development experience and enjoy tackling technically challenging problems.
We care more about strong software engineering fundamentals and your ability to learn than about expertise in a specific language or framework.
You don't need to be a C#/.NET expert when you join us, but you should be motivated to learn C# and .NET. Familiarity with Python is valuable given its central role in our Data & Research ecosystem.
Experience with platform engineering, developer tooling, distributed computing, data infrastructure or performance-sensitive software would be a strong plus.
Previous experience in finance is not required.
Autonomy, ownership and technical excellence are central to our engineering culture.
Our engineers work closely with traders, quants, researchers and other teams to design systems that address real user needs.
Code reviews, peer discussions and rigorous software engineering practices are an integral part of how we work.
Every four months, we select priority projects according to our business plan and allocate them across teams based on their areas of responsibility. Teams then have significant autonomy in deciding how to organize and deliver their objectives
Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is a priority. We strive to create an inclusive working environment, conducive to the fulfillment of each individual, while ensuring a harmonious balance between professional and personal life. Our policies in favor of gender equality and people with disabilities are at the heart of our approach.
