Job summary

Sumitomo SHI FW Energia Oy seeks a Welding Coordinator / Engineer to join the Group Quality department in Varkaus, Finland. The role centers on maintaining the ISO 3834-2 Welding Quality Management System and conducting internal audits of the Welding and QHSE systems.

You will review welding-related client requirements and provide welding expertise across projects. The position requires an MSc/BSc in mechanical/materials engineering and an IWE qualification, with at least 5 years of welding

Qualifications

MSc or BSc in Mechanical or Materials Engineering.
International Welding Engineering (IWE) qualification.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Welding Coordinator in manufacturing or similar.
Strong knowledge of ISO 3834 and its implementation.
Excellent Finnish and English communication skills, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

Maintain ISO 3834-2 Welding Quality Management System.
Conduct internal audits of ISO 3834 and the QHSE Management System.
Perform supplier and construction audits.
Review welding-related client requirements for proposals.
Provide welding expertise across projects, including procedure reviews and repairs.
Act as substitute Welding Coordinator for Service Production in Varkaus and manage repair plans.
