At Verda, we're building a fully featured European AI cloud, covering everything needed to train, experiment with, and deploy AI models at scale. We are a full‑stack AI infrastructure company, meaning we design, operate, and optimize the compute powering modern AI workloads across training and inference. Our infrastructure runs on 100% renewable energy, helping build a more sustainable AI ecosystem. Join Verda while it’s still being built – not once it’s finished.
About the Role
We're looking for a UX Researcher to help us build a cloud platform console that works for the people who actually use it: developers and ML engineers deploying and managing cloud infrastructure. You'll be embedded in the product team, working directly with design and engineering to test, measure, and improve console flows across new and existing features. That means running usability studies with real technical users, benchmarking against the best developer tools in the market, defining metrics that make the impact of design decisions measurable over time, and staying ahead of where the product is going, including AI‑assisted and agentic workflows that are reshaping how developers interact with infrastructure. You'll also be establishing research practices while the team is still small. The frameworks and standards you put in place will stick.
Your responsibilities
- Plan and run research across the product lifecycle (interviews, usability testing, surveys) and synthesize findings from customer conversations, product analytics, support data, and market research into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Run usability testing on new and existing features using realistic technical scenarios and qualified participants; own recruitment and maintain an ongoing pool of ML engineers, cloud developers, and DevOps practitioners.
- Research user expectations and mental models for AI‑assisted and agentic infrastructure workflows, including trust, control handoff, and error recovery.
- Benchmark UX across cloud platforms and developer tools to establish baselines for new features and track quality over time.
- Establish research frameworks, repositories, and best practices that enable the team to continuously learn from users.
- Define quantitative UX metrics and track them over time so the impact of design decisions is measurable, not assumed.
Your key competencies
- 4+ years of experience in UX Research, User Research, Product Research, or a related field.
- Proven experience conducting end‑to‑end qualitative and quantitative research.
- Strong interview, usability testing, survey design, and synthesis skills.
- Experience working closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
- Enough technical fluency with cloud infrastructure or developer tooling to design realistic research tasks and evaluate findings accurately. You don't need to be an engineer, but you need to understand what you're testing.
- Ability to translate research findings into actionable product recommendations.
- Strong understanding of user‑centered design principles and product development processes.
- Experience creating research plans, frameworks, and repositories.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance rigor with speed in a fast‑moving environment.
- Strong curiosity and passion for understanding users and solving complex problems.
Nice to have
- Experience in a technology, AI, SaaS, or scale‑up environment.
- Familiarity with product analytics and behavioral data analysis.
- Experience establishing research practices in a growing organization.
Practicalities
- Location: Helsinki.
- Hybrid mode: 3 days per week in the office.
- Employment type: Full‑time and permanent.
