Job summary

Aalto University’s Department of Design seeks a University Teacher or Lecturer with rich experience bridging design and industrial manufacturing. The role focuses on turning design concepts into manufacturable prototypes using CAD/CAM tools and digital fabrication, while contributing to curriculum development and student assessment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in design or relevant field.
• Documented track record in design practice, in industry or manufacturing contexts.
• Strong interest in teaching design students in practical skills as well as guiding theses.
• Proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Educate students in turning design concepts into prototypes that can be industrially manufactured with mature and emerging technologies.
• Teach manufacturing techniques relevant to product design, CAD and CAM software, and basics of prototyping.
• Participate in development of teaching, design activities and research within the Department of Design.
• Guide and assess student assignments and theses, and participate in intake of new students as needed.
