Job summary

AMD seeks a Thermal/Mechanical Test Engineer co-op in Markham, Ontario, to join the team on-site for the full-term. The role runs May 2027 to August 2028, with 40 hours per week in a on-site setting, contributing to validation of dGPU products and complex thermal/mechanical assessments.

You will work with internal teams to meet schedules, analyze failures, manage lab equipment, and develop automation and data reports to drive reliable test outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Strong knowledge of heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
• Lab skills: building computer systems, instrumentation, test management, and data acquisition.
• Data analysis: ability to work with large data sets and draw conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Thermal validation support of dGPU products and bring-up systems.
• Characterize products for thermal, mechanical, acoustic, and electrical/power specs.
• Collaborate with internal teams to meet project schedules and resolve issues.
• Analyze test and field failures and support root-cause analysis.
• Lab management: calibration and maintenance of test equipment.
• Procure and update lab equipment to meet standards.
• Develop automation scripts and tools to run validation tests.
• Develop databases and reports for test and production data.
