Job summary

ReOrbit is seeking a Safety/ESD engineer to lead ESD and safety practices across spacecraft AIT activities at our Helsinki headquarters. You will ensure compliance with ESD, cleanroom, environmental and safety requirements, conduct risk assessments and incident investigations, and collaborate with AIT, Product Assurance and Engineering teams to maintain safe integration and test environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with risk assessment and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of ECSS standards and ESD control.
• Understanding of cleanroom operations and environmental monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the ESD Control Plan for operations and activities.
• Ensure compliance with ESD standards, including ECSS-Q-ST-20-07 or equivalent.
• Classify hardware by ESD sensitivity levels and set handling requirements.
• Specify and monitor EPAs, grounding concepts and ESD-safe tools for workstations.
• Investigate, document and report ESD incidents and non-conformances.
• Define and implement safety procedures for spacecraft integration, testing and handling.
• Perform risk assessments and safety reviews, test readiness, and related activities.
• Maintain lock-out/tag-out and access control procedures as required.
• Ensure cleanroom procedures and environmental monitoring compliance.
• Develop and deliver ESD and safety training for AIT and engineering staff.
• Certify and maintain personnel qualifications for critical operations.
• Promote a strong safety and compliance culture across AIT teams.
• Coordinate with AIT and engineering teams to embed ESD and safety in processes.
