Job summary

ReOrbit is seeking an experienced ESD / Safety Engineer to lead ESD control and safety practices across spacecraft AIT operations at our Helsinki HQ. You will classify hardware, define EPAs, analyze hazards, and ensure compliance with environmental and cleanroom requirements.

Collaboration with AIT and engineering teams is essential to enforce safe test environments. The role emphasizes risk assessment, incident investigation, and development of training programs to uphold a strong safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in ESD control, safety engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of ESD control principles, grounding concepts and ESD-safe practices.
• Understanding of ECSS standards and cleanroom requirements.
• Experience with risk assessment, hazard identification and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the ESD Control Plan for spacecraft AIT operations.
• Ensure compliance with ECSS-Q-ST-20-07 or equivalent standards.
• Classify hardware by ESD sensitivity and define handling requirements.
• Specify ESD Protected Areas (EPAs) and ESD-safe tools/equipment.
• Verify correct use of wrist straps and grounding systems.
• Conduct regular ESD audits across cleanrooms and AIT areas.
• Investigate ESD incidents and NCRs; implement corrective actions.
• Define and implement safety procedures for spacecraft integration, testing and handling.
