Job summary

Vuono Group is seeking a versatile Software Engineer to join our Helsinki team. You will work across the full stack, from frontend to cloud-based backend, and contribute to automation and CI/CD pipelines for client projects.

You’ll collaborate with clients and stakeholders, bringing a strong software engineering mindset and curiosity about AI, while solving complex business problems across industries. This role emphasizes on-site work in the Greater Helsinki area and a high-autonomy culture.

Qualifications

• Broad full-stack experience across frontend and backend, cloud platforms, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Docker, Terraform, VMs and automation frameworks.
• Exposure to modern API architectures and integration platforms is a plus.
• Willingness to work on-site in the Greater Helsinki area.

About the role

As a Software Engineer at Vuono Group, you're comfortable moving across the full stack. Depending on the client project, that means frontend interfaces, backend systems, integrations, cloud platforms, and the automation and CI/CD pipelines that tie it all together.

You care about good software engineering practices and lean ways of working, and you bring that mindset to every client you work with. You act as a trusted advisor, listening, asking the right questions, and building the trust and solutions that solve critical business problems.

We're a tech agnostic and humble team with endless curiosity about what actually works. That curiosity is exactly what we bring to AI too. We're looking for colleagues who are eager to work with AI, but who also aim to understand what's under the surface.

Here's what helps you hit the ground running:

• Solid programming skills. We pick whatever tool fits the problem best, but you'll thrive here if you know one or more of: Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, Java, Clojure, Scala, Swift, Kotlin, React Native, C#, F#, .NET
• Experience with a cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• A decent grasp of how software actually runs - Docker, Terraform, VMs, automation & CI/CD frameworks
• Experience with modern API architectures and integration platforms is considered a plus
• Interest in AI engineering — integrating frontier APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) or enterprise cloud platforms (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock), and automating work with AI assistants and agents (and knowing when off-the-shelf beats building it yourself)
• Fluent spoken and written Finnish and English skills
• Comfort working with clients and other stakeholders
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
• We work closely with our clients, often on-site, so we're looking for candidates who live in, or are planning to move to, the Greater Helsinki area.
