Job summary

Danfoss Drives is seeking a Simulation Specialist to develop simulation models for grid-connected power converters, inverters, and energy storage systems to support product development and customer applications.

You will create Functional Mock-up Units (FMUs), collaborate with software and systems engineering teams, and validate models against grid code requirements to ensure reliable operation in diverse environments.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Power Electronics, Power Systems, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience with simulation studies of grid-connected power electronic devices.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and at least one of PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or PSS®E.

Responsibilities

• Develop simulation models for grid-connected power converters, inverters, and energy storage systems for product development and customer applications.
• Create and maintain FMUs to enable efficient and accurate simulation testing across environments.
• Collaborate with software and systems engineering teams to ensure models reflect product functionality and performance.
• Validate and test simulation models against grid code requirements to support compliance and reliable operation.
• Analyse converter behaviour under different grid conditions and fault scenarios to improve performance and stability.
