Meyer Turku Oy is seeking a Plate Fitter to manufacture and assemble steel structures and ship blocks at the Turku shipyard. You will read drawings, measure and fit plates, and verify tolerances in a dynamic production environment.

The role demands experience with steel plate processing, safe work practices, and the ability to work both indoors and outdoors, including at heights and in confined spaces. Fluency in Finnish or English is required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a plate fitter or ship plate fitter or steel structure assembler.
• Ability to read technical drawings and work within specified tolerances.
• Experience in steel plate processing, structural assembly, and use of measuring equipment.
• Safe working practices and a proactive approach to work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Readiness to work indoors and outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces.
• Ability to communicate in Finnish or English regarding work-related matters.

Responsabilités

• Reading technical drawings and work instructions.
• Measuring, marking, cutting, bending, and fitting steel plates.
• Assembling steel structures and ship blocks and verifying alignments and tolerances.
• Tack welding and oxy-fuel cutting as part of the fabrication process.
• Identifying and reporting deviations, quality issues, and safety risks.
• Collaborating with welders, supervisors, and designers.
