Job summary

Huawei Finland Research Center in Helsinki seeks experienced Senior/Staff/Principal Web Platform Engineers to shape the Chromium-based web platform on OpenHarmony OS. You’ll drive rendering, graphics, and browser performance, with opportunities in on-device AI and agent-based web interaction.

The role focuses on Chromium internals, rendering pipelines, and OS integration, collaborating with Huawei’s global R&D teams and contributing to open-source projects.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of C/C++ and systems-level software development
• 5+ years with web engines such as Chromium/Blink, WebKit, Firefox/Gecko, or Servo
• Strong understanding of browser architecture and multi-process OS integration
• Hands-on experience in performance analysis using Perfetto or Chrome Tracing
• Experience in graphics, web runtimes, Chromium embedding, and OS integration

Responsibilities

• Chromium & Rendering: develop and optimize Chromium components and GPU integration
• Performance Engineering: identify and resolve bottlenecks across rendering, IPC, memory
• Web Runtime & On-Device AI: optimize browser runtime for local AI workloads
• Agent-Based Web Interaction: build capabilities for agent-driven content interaction
• OS & Hardware Integration: integrate Chromium with OpenHarmony APIs and hardware
• Open Source: contribute to Chromium and related projects
