Huawei Finland Research Center in Helsinki seeks an experienced Senior/Staff/Principal Web Platform Engineer to own the Chromium-based web platform and its integration with OpenHarmony OS (OHOS). The role emphasizes rendering, performance, and OS integration with on-device AI capabilities and browser automation considerations.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in C/C++, deep browser architecture expertise, and hands-on performance analysis using Perfetto or Chrome Tracing.

Qualifications

8+ years of C/C++ and systems-level software development.
5+ years of experience with web engines such as Chromium/Blink or WebKit.
Strong browser architecture knowledge: rendering pipelines, IPC, and OS integration.
Hands-on browser performance analysis using Perfetto or Chrome Tracing.
Experience with graphics: Vulkan, GLES, and WebGPU/WebGL.

Responsibilities

Develop and optimize Chromium components (Blink, Viz, GPU) for mobile and desktop.
Improve rendering performance and integrate graphics backends (Vulkan, GLES, Skia).
Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks across rendering, IPC, memory, and browser processes.
Collaborate on OpenHarmony OS integration and hardware features (GPU/NPU).
Contribute to open-source projects and Chromium-related work when appropriate.
