Job summary

Huawei Finland R&D is seeking an experienced Senior Researcher/Expert in Mobile Operating System Security to join the System Security Laboratory in Helsinki. You will explore next‑generation security technologies for Huawei smartphones and consumer devices, identify threats, and build prototypes to advance HarmonyOS security features.

The role covers kernel/system security, hardware-assisted security, compiler/runtime security, and language/runtime security, with opportunities to apply AI

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent industrial experience.
• Deep expertise in at least one of the research areas above.
• Strong knowledge of system security technologies (Android/Linux/OpenHarmony/HarmonyOS, Arm architectures, compiler/runtime security, or program analysis).

Responsibilities

• Analyze prior work and emerging threats for mobile OS and consumer devices.
• Develop security proposals based on threat models and product needs.
• Design, implement and evaluate proof-of-concept prototypes for security effectiveness and performance.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate research into deployable tech.
• Apply AI-assisted methods to security analysis and prototyping.
• Communicate findings to researchers, engineers, and decision-makers.
