Job summary

Remedy Entertainment, the creator of Control and Alan Wake, seeks a Senior UI Programmer to bring game UIs to life through code, across the Northlight engine. You will build HUD widgets, menus and UI components in TypeScript and C++, and connect data between the engine and the frontend.

Collaborating with UI programmers, UX designers and gameplay programmers, you will shape the UI framework, optimize rendering across platforms, review code, and contribute to Remedy’s UI craft with a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Strong experience with C++, including multithreaded code.
• Fluency in the modern web stack: TypeScript, JSX, CSS preprocessing.

Responsibilities

• Build HUD widgets, menus and UI components in TypeScript and C++, shipping them in the game.
• Develop the data layer between the engine and the UI, and design its next iteration.
• Maintain and develop UI framework features on top of Coherent Gameface (menu navigation, data binding, binding textures to meshes, live-editing, audio system integration, input system integration).
• Collaborate with the Northlight engine team on UI performance and rendering features, profiling and optimizing UI across CPU, GPU and memory on all platforms.
• Support and help game teams implement maps, HUDs, interaction markers, and features like the investigation board in Alan Wake 2.
• Participate in code reviews, share technical solutions, and document your work for dependent teams.
