Job summary

Wärtsilä is seeking an Expert in Structural Analysis to tackle demanding FEM simulations and numerical analyses for marine propulsion components and systems. You will perform, evaluate, and report simulations, identify root causes of technical challenges, and influence design decisions across cylinder heads, valve mechanisms, fuel systems and gas systems.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in structural analysis and FEM simulations.
• MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with Abaqus, HyperMesh, SimLab, OptiStruct or similar tools.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Solve demanding structural strength and durability challenges using FEM and numerical analysis.
• Perform, evaluate, and report simulations related to dynamics, fatigue, stress and structural strength.
• Support product and technology development across cylinder heads, valve mechanisms, fuel systems, and gas systems.
• Contribute to developing simulation methods, processes, and new ways of working; share findings within the team.
