Job summary

Varjo in Helsinki develops mixed reality hardware and software for defense and aerospace training. This full-time role focuses on developing Unreal Engine based training simulations for Varjo XR headsets, integrating XR and simulator hardware, and assisting customers and partners in using Unreal Engine with Varjo technology.

You will work in a cross-functional team, practice test-driven development, and have the freedom to choose tools and methods.

Qualifications

• Multiple years of experience working with Unreal Engine with C++.
• Experience in creating multiplayer applications.
• Experience setting up 3D content pipelines (e.g., Maya, Blender).
• Experience working with graphics APIs.
• Nice to have: VR or XR experience, Unity exposure, OpenXR experience.
• Team player with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing

• Development of Unreal Engine based training simulation applications for the Varjo XR headsets.
• Integrating XR and simulator hardware with Unreal Engine
• Helping customers and partners in the use of Unreal Engine with the Varjo XR technology.
• Test-driven development

This is a full-time position located in Helsinki, Finland and requires minimum 3 days in the office per week.

Requirements

• Multiple years of experience working with Unreal Enginewith C++
• Experience in creating multiplayer applications
• Experience setting up 3D content pipelines (e.g., Maya, Blender).
• Experience working with graphics APIs
• Nice to have:
  • previous experience in VR or XR
  • experiences with other games engines such as Unity
  • experience with OpenXR
• Team player, ability to perform in cross-functional teams and to share knowledge with others
