Job summary

Veikkaus is seeking a Senior Developer for the Common Gaming Platforms Integration Platform. You will play a significant role in the product team, building a central integration layer that connects game engines, platforms, and backends in a scalable, automated way.

You will tackle challenging problems, emphasize teamwork and responsibility, and influence API design, DevOps, and code quality while shaping a modern iPaaS solution. Hybrid work arrangements apply in Helsinki area.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with modern API design and management (RESTful APIs, security, versioning, documentation).
• Databases (relational and NoSQL).
• Cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP; GCP preferred).
• Strong focus on clean, secure, and performant code.
• DevOps experience including CI, automated deployment, and test automation.
• Experience building observable, business-critical solutions.
• Experience with Agile practices.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Fluent in Finnish (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Veikkaus Integration Platform as part of the product team.

Senior Developer, Common Gaming Platforms (Integration Platform)

As a Senior Developer, you will have a significant role in the product team working on the Veikkaus Integration Platform for games. This platform is a central component in the Veikkaus tech stack, connecting the various game engines, platforms, and backends in a flexible and automated way. If you enjoy the challenge of building a high-availability, generalised integration platform that is capable of massively decreasing time-to-market, then this will be a challenge worthy of your time and effort! The product is in active development with many core capabilities still to be developed. Given that, your handiwork will shape the product and, in many ways, you will be at the forefront of building a modern iPaaS solution.

We are looking for a person who loves problem-solving and thinking outside the box, who is comfortable with uncertainty and can break down complex topics to clear, easily understandable chunks. Your many years of experience tell you that technical excellence alone is not enough, but great teamwork, discipline and responsibility are key to success. You also bring your educated views – whether it’s about code quality, effective teamwork, DevOps or API design – to the table and stand by them while willing to let the best argument win.

Key competencies and experience

• Extensive experience with modern API design and management, including RESTful principles, API security (OAuth2/OIDC), versioning strategies, and documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger)
• Databases (both relational and NoSQL)
• Cloud infrastructure e.g. AWS or GCP (GCP preferred)
• Extensive experience creating clean, secure and performant code
• Experience with DevOps, including Continuous Integration (CI), automated deployment, and test automation
• Experience building business-critical, observable solutions and maintaining them
• Experience with Agile principles and practices
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written

The position is located at Veikkaus’ headquarters in Pohjois-Haaga, Helsinki. We work flexibly in a hybrid model. To foster collaboration and effective teamwork, we meet at the office three times a week.
