Job summary

Smartly is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join Team Autopsy and help build automation and optimization features that save customers time and improve campaign performance. You will contribute to backend services and frontend applications powering campaign automation at scale, collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers across the platform.

• Experience building backend services with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience developing modern React applications using TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and microservice architectures.
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests at unit, integration and end-to-end levels.
• Ability to independently drive projects from problem definition through delivery.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.
• Interest in mentoring other engineers.
• Hybrid work from Helsinki office 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and frontend applications powering campaign automation.
• Contribute to scalable, reliable systems and improve developer experience.
• Develop and evolve services such as Triggers, Ad Rotation, Smartly Actions, and Action Router.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers across teams to deliver solutions that address customer needs.
• Own projects end-to-end from planning through implementation.
• Improve quality via automated tests, monitoring, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Shape Smartly's target architecture via cross-team initiatives.
