Aiven is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Database Fleet Engineering team. You will help keep our PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Valkey services stable, automated, and running at scale. We automate everything, with backend systems primarily in Python along with Java, Go, and C.

You'll work across development, operations, and customer support to improve reliability and performance, while mentoring other engineers and driving scalable, secure solutions.

Formación

• Excellent development skills in Python.
• 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Valkey/Redis, or similar.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and DevOps practices in production environments.
• Experience with backup solutions and backup strategies.
• Advanced understanding of Linux OS.
• Experience with automated testing.
• Distributed systems knowledge.
• Fluency in English, verbal and written.

Responsabilidades

• Write high-quality, maintainable code and release quality features.
• Participate in technical discussions and perform PR reviews.
• Contribute to technical planning and backlog management.
• Help investigate and resolve customer issues.
• Mentor and empower other engineers.
• Automate processes to eliminate repetitive manual work.
• Develop and improve the scalability, reliability, and operational quality of our PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Valkey services.
