Job summary

Ookla, an Accenture company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a tight-knit team building back-end services and platforms for scalable cloud solutions. You will contribute to planning, architecture, and the future software stack while mentoring juniors and ensuring high-quality feature delivery.

Required: 6+ years of software development experience with Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, and TypeScript; AWS-based microservices; PostgreSQL. Bonus: Vue.js/React, Kotlin, Scala, Terraform.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, TypeScript.
• Experience with building scalable solutions and microservices on top AWS.
• Experience designing relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL).
• Bonus points: Vue.js or React frontend experience.
• Bonus points: Kotlin, Scala and Terraform.
• Getting things done attitude and a growth mindset.
• Good communication skills in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Adapt and further develop our current web application architecture to support new features that require system understanding covering our proprietary measurement devices’ data and control planes, and corresponding data and API architecture in the cloud.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other teams to deliver high-quality features.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, helping them understand architectural principles, best practices, and ways of working.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues for stable and efficient applications.
