Job summary

Skillsearch is helping a world-leading mobile games studio in Helsinki fill a Senior Software Engineer (AI-Native) role within the Research Tech team. The position is hybrid (2-3 days on-site) and initially a 6-month contract, offering a hands-on opportunity to combine backend and frontend work while leveraging AI tools to boost researchers’ productivity.

Responsibilities

• Build the technology behind in-game surveys and WebViews inside games, controlled by the game engine and API connections.
• Design, build and maintain APIs and backend services.
• Integrate external data sources to give researchers a fuller picture of player behaviour.
• Work closely with game researchers and other teams to turn ideas into working tools.
• Use AI tools day to day to work faster and smarter, and help the team maximise them.

Senior Software Engineer (AI-Native), Research Tech

About the role

We’re partnering with a world-leading mobile games company, the studio behind some of the most successful and long-running games of the last decade, played by hundreds of millions of people worldwide. They’re known for a culture built on trust, autonomy and a relentless focus on making great games.

They’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their Research Tech team, which builds the software that helps game researchers understand players, from running surveys inside live games to bringing together data from many sources.

This is a hands‑on generalist role across the backend and frontend. Strong technical skills matter, but attitude, communication and proactivity matter even more. If you enjoy solving practical problems, talking through ideas with others and using AI tools to get the most out of your time, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll work on
