Job summary

Silicon Labs in Espoo, Finland seeks an experienced engineer to own the design and delivery of complex Bluetooth stack features for embedded devices. You will interpret specifications, evaluate options, and guide engineers through implementing tradeoffs in software, radio performance, and power consumption.

You will collaborate with agile teams, perform analyses, implement features in embedded C, and leverage AI tools for testing, code reviews, and documentation while ensuring robust, scalable

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of SW design and engineering experience (excluding education).
• Experience with embedded wireless, networking software, system software, driver development or similar.
• Experience with SW platforms, architecture, APIs, embedded systems, wireless and internet protocols; familiarity with Zigbee/Thread/Wi‑Fi; development tools; microcontrollers (Cortex‑M, RISC‑V).
• Positive attitude toward innovation, achievement, continuous technical learning, process-orientation, and quality assurance.
• Experience in agile teams is a plus.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

JobDescription:

Own the technical design and delivery of complex Bluetooth stack features, from interpreting specifications and evaluating design options through implementation, validation and customer issue resolution. Make design tradeoffs across software, radio performance, power and product requirements, and guide other engineers on difficult technical decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the agile team and adjacent engineering teams to deliver Bluetooth low energy stack features from specification through testing and release.

• Performing feature and feasibility analyses, designing software and APIs

• Implementing features in embedded C using high-class design practices and coding conventions.

• Using AI development tools where helpful for exploring solutions, writing tests, reviewing code and preparing documentation, while checking their output carefully.

• Reviewing designs and code, documenting technical decisions and helping other engineers solve difficult problems.

• Developing automated tests and measuring software performance.

• Working with build scripts, continuous integration, developer tools, technical documentation and SDK software.

• Providing input to wireless specifications and, where relevant, participating in Bluetooth SIG working groups.

• Debugging technically demanding issues and helping customers succeed with our products.

• Providing ideas and innovations for makingourproducts and working methods even more competitive and extraordinary

Skills/Experience/Characteristics:

• Minimum 5 years of SW design and engineeringexperience as aSW Engineer (excluding education)

• Experience with embedded wireless, networking software, system software, driver development or similar.

• Additional design experiencewithat least some of thefollowing:SW platforms,SW architecture,APIs,embedded systems,wireless, internet protocols,local connectivitytechnologies(Zigbee, Thread, Wi-Fi), development tools, and microcontrollers(Cortex-M, Risc-V)

Education requirements:

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between €55,650 - €103,350 EUR. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, equity package and a comprehensive benefits package.
