Job summary

ICEYE is seeking a Senior Smart Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical, to design and own mechanical and electromechanical systems for satellite production. You will develop MGSE and production test jigs, working across electronics and software teams to ensure safe, efficient operations and scalable manufacturing.

You will lead end-to-end design efforts, mentor junior engineers, and define standards for mechantronics while collaborating closely with Production and AIT teams in Espoo.

Qualifications

• 6–8+ years in mechanical/electromechanical engineering focused on production systems or test equipment.
• Experience designing mechanical/support equipment (MGSE, lifting systems, fixtures) for high-value hardware.
• Hands-on in production test jigs or verification systems.
• Strong integration knowledge of mechanics, electronics and software/controls.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and own MGSE and mechanical/electromechanical systems used in satellite production and integration.
• Develop production test jigs and verification systems with electronics and software engineers.
• Take designs from concept through CAD, documentation, manufacturing support and on-site commissioning.
• Define and improve standards, frameworks and documentation for mechanical/mechatronic designs.
• Proactively identify bottlenecks in production and propose data-driven mitigation plans.
• Collaborate with Production, AIT Engineering and other teams to ensure robustness and alignment with needs.
• Contribute to roadmaps and prioritization for production systems.
