Job summary

Mapbox is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Security & Compliance team. As part of a diverse, globally distributed group, you’ll help build secure-by-default systems and monitor cloud deployments across multiple regions.

You will conduct AWS security reviews, propose improvements, and collaborate with developers to secure code from the outset. A strong security background and AWS experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or similar
• 5+ years in product or application security and related software engineering roles
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, Node.js or TypeScript and security testing

Responsibilities

• Conduct AWS security reviews and validate best practices are followed
• Propose security improvements and coordinate with production teams to implement them
• Code securely with developers to address issues early in the development lifecycle
• Perform in-depth security reviews of application code and partner with product teams
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 system availability
