Job summary

GIM Robotics, based in Espoo, Finland, seeks a Senior Robotics Engineer, Perception to build and improve the perception stack for autonomous mobile robots. You will work on camera and 3D lidar data to enable detection, tracking, and scene understanding in real time within constrained hardware.

The role combines hands-on development with potential technical leadership, collaborating with a diverse team to advance robust, scalable perception architectures for outdoor industrial applications.

Qualifications

• Requires a university-level degree (M.Sc. or higher) in robotics, computer science, or electrical engineering.
• 5+ years of software development in complex architectures.
• Hands-on perception with camera or 3D lidar data and ML-enabled methods.
• Strong C++ and Python skills across build to deploy pipelines.
• Experience with ROS2 in real robot systems and real-time software.

Responsibilities

• Develop perception software for autonomous robots, including detection, classification, tracking and mapping.
• Design and implement robust perception architectures combining classical and ML approaches.
• Lead technical initiatives and share knowledge to shape perception stack.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and deliver reliable, real-time solutions.
