Job summary

UPM, Helsinki, invites an experienced risk management professional to join our global team. You will manage and advance our enterprise risk practices, analyze financial risks and dependencies, and develop dashboards and analytical tools to support strategic decisions.

The role requires a Master’s degree and several years in risk management, insurance, or analytics, with strong numerical and communication skills. English fluency is essential, and travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or another relevant university degree.
  • Several years of experience in enterprise risk management, insurance, finance, business analysis, consulting, audit, risk modelling, data analytics or a related field.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and modelling skills with complex data.
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear analysis and recommendations for senior management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with stakeholders across a matrix organization.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Fluent English, both verbal and written; willingness to travel as needed.
  • Experience in multinational industrial or capital-intensive environments, insurance or risk financing, or tools like PowerBI and ServiceNow is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and further develop UPM’s enterprise risk management practices.
  • Analyze material risks, exposures and dependencies, including their potential financial impacts.
  • Prepare scenarios, sensitivity analyses and risk financing analyses to support business decisions.
  • Develop risk data, dashboards, reporting and analytical tools.
  • Manage and develop UPM’s global insurance programs and support insurance, captive and risk financing decisions.
  • Manage underwriting data and insurance‑related documentation and play a leading role in insurance claims management.
  • Provide clear conclusions and recommendations for senior management and continuously improve risk management methods and practices.

What you will do

Who you are

  • You have excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • You communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing, and are willing to travel when needed.
  • Experience in a multinational industrial or capital‑intensive environment, insurance or risk financing, or tools such as PowerBI and ServiceNow is considered an advantage.

This position is located in Helsinki, Finland. The position holder will report to the Director, Risk Management.
