Job summary

Jobtailor in Finland seeks a senior product leader to shape the WE2 Defense surface weather offering, owning strategy, roadmap, and cross‑functional execution across NATO-aligned programs.

You will translate customer insights into prioritized product plans, drive GTM with Sales, and collaborate with partners to deliver integrated weather solutions, while traveling up to 50 days annually and maintaining security clearance.

• Cover measurement devices and system elements across the defense surface weather portfolio
• Lead product creation and go-to-market from a product management perspective
• Own the WE2 Defense surface weather offering as a whole
• Establish priorities and steer development initiatives across multiple product lines
• Work with the Head of Sales, Defense Meteorology, to translate segment strategy, customer insights, and commercial opportunities into product and portfolio priorities
• Collaborate with Vaisala Xweather to shape integrated solutions
• Use product management and business development experience to identify and validate customer problems
• Estimate associated market potential
• Present findings in actionable formats for internal decision-makers and other product leaders
• Manage inherited products and platforms relied on by NATO members and allies
• Collaborate with customers, partners, and internal experts
• Lead creation and go-to-market of the next-generation product
• Report to the Director, Weather Observation Systems

Requirements

• Experience from the defense industry, defense forces, or another similar applicable industry
• Substantial experience in product leadership/management, including ownership of a product’s strategy, business case, and lifecycle in a B2B or B2G market, preferably both
• Demonstrated ability to create a high-technology product vision supported by a solid business case and realistic view of technology capabilities
• Strong business judgment, including market sizing, segmentation, competitive analysis, and pricing logic
• Ability to identify unrealistic proposals
• Track record of turning complex or ambiguous initiatives into clear, prioritized plans
• Confidence to argue for proposals in architecture and long-term planning forums
• Eagerness to understand customers and define new products
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills
• Credibility to influence peers across a global matrix organization
• Ability to travel for up to 50 days annually
• Curiosity and growth mindset to explore, learn, and apply AI tools in daily work
