Job summary

Vaisala is seeking a Head of Sales Defense Meteorology to lead WE2’s strategy and go-to-market for the Defense segment. This role combines commercial ownership, sales leadership, and direct customer engagement to translate market insight into portfolio priorities.

You will manage defense sales leaders across regions, drive targets, and stay actively involved in closing opportunities, shaping a global defense offering in a fast-evolving market.

Qualifications

• Leadership track record in sales with quota attainment and funnel management.
• Deep understanding of defense meteorology and related customer needs.
• Experience with defense procurement processes (G2G, B2G, FMS).
• Excellent English communication and influencing skills.
• Strong portfolio knowledge and ability to translate market insights into strategy.

Responsibilities

• Set targets, manage the sales funnel and prioritize opportunities across the defense sales team.
• Directly manage defense sales managers in Europe and North America.
• Coordinate defense sales activity across regions via matrix model with shared resources.
• Stay actively involved in selling and close opportunities personally when needed.
• Own WE2’s Defense Meteorology strategy and align with Strategy/BD and P&T teams.
