Job summary

VTT is seeking a Portfolio Lead for Microelectronics and Photonics at its Espoo site. The role drives the strategic roadmap, aligns research and commercial opportunities, and strengthens IP creation and transfer of outcomes into practical applications.

You will collaborate with Research Professors, BD professionals and project teams to maximise portfolio impact. You will oversee technology trends, market developments and maintain stakeholder relationships to support VTT’s long-term objectives

Qualifications

Master’s degree or PhD in microelectronics, photonics, electrical engineering, physics or another relevant field.
Strong understanding of research, innovation and technology development environments.
Experience in developing and managing strategic portfolios, programmes or research initiatives.
Deep understanding of microelectronics and photonics technologies and their future development opportunities.

Responsibilities

Lead the strategic roadmap of the Microelectronics and Photonics portfolio with stakeholders.
Evaluate emerging technologies, trends and market developments in microelectronics and photonics.
Ensure portfolio activities align with VTT’s objectives and impact targets.
Lead IP and IPR planning at a strategic level.
Develop and utilise research infrastructure to support renewal and customer needs.
Prioritise technologies for transfer, market readiness or spin-off opportunities.
Collaborate with Business Development and Launchpad teams to advance commercialisation.
