Job summary

ICEYE is seeking a Staff Mechanical Design Engineer to lead in designing spacecraft structures and ensuring robust, cost-effective manufacturing. You will integrate with Spacecraft Hardware teams to meet stringent aerospace quality requirements, manage PDR/CDR activities, and drive verification through PRR/ERR processes.

You will collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure on-time delivery from concept to qualification, while advancing product reliability for ICEYE’s SAR satellite

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in aerospace, automotive, or related industries.
• Experience in designing satellites structures, subsystems or similar complex electromechanical systems.
• Understanding of mechanical stress, vibration, and thermal effects on space structures & mechanisms.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with systems, electrical, and manufacturing teams.
• Familiarity with ECSS, NASA, MIL standards.
• Strong teamwork, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to make multi-team and organizational impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to trade studies, design reviews (PDR/CDR), and verification and production qualification documentation (PRR/ERR).
• Ensure smooth, on-time product delivery, from concept to qualification.
• Contribute to continuous improvements of current products.
• Collaborate with suppliers, supply chain, AIT engineering and QA to ensure compliance with launch and on-orbit environments.
• Collaborate with system and subsystem engineers to define requirements for new products.
• Collaborate with internal and external engineering and AIT teams during product integration and build, supporting issue resolution.
