Job summary

Nokia is seeking an experienced licensing professional to lead patent licensing negotiations and deal teams in the IoT domain. The role supports strategic initiatives, collaborates with the litigation team, and drives licensing opportunities across industry verticals from Espoo, Finland.

You will manage multiple engagements, design processes, and contribute to business strategy while maintaining strong English communication and travel readiness.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in patent licensing sales and out-licensing experience.
• Master of Laws degree.
• Strong negotiation, influencing and presentation skills.
• Project management capabilities and drive to completion.
• Creative, analytical thinking to solve complex problems.
• Willingness to travel and work under pressure.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Technology Standards licenses Nokia's intellectual property, building on Nokia's continued innovation and decades of R&D leadership in technologies deployed in virtually all connected devices today. The Licensing team engages with companies benefiting from Nokia innovations in their solutions across various industry verticals, including but not limited to mobile and consumer electronics devices, automotive and various other IoT solutions as well as multimedia solutions. Licensing leverages Nokia’s strong essential patent portfolio related to connectivity and video standards, as well as other patents covering further technology areas in Nokia’s R&D focus. In this role, you will support the Licensing team identifying, developing, and executing patent licensing opportunities especially in the IoT domain.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

• Lead licensing negotiations and deal teams for licensing deals
• Collaborate with the litigation team to develop and drive litigation strategy and execution.
• Drive work to meet the Licensing business goals and targets.
• Must be able to multitask across multiple licensing engagements and lead several license negotiations concurrently while prioritizing effectively.
• Demonstrate strategic thinking to design and develop projects, processes, and content relevant especially for our IoT patent licensing domain.
• Contribute to building business strategy to address internal or external business and customer issues.

Key Skills And Experience

• 7+ years of relevant, patent licensing sales, work experience. Experience in patent out-licensing is a must.
• University degree: Master of Laws.
• Good negotiation, influencing and presentation skills as well as a team player mindset.
• Project management skills, and determination to see things through to completion.
• Thinks and acts creatively in order to develop and apply new innovative approaches to complex problems.
• Analytical skills and understanding of financial analyses.
• Willingness to travel and to work under pressure.
• Communication skills, excellent command of written and spoken English.
