Job summary

UPM is seeking a (Senior) Manager to join the Group Accounting and Reporting team in Group Finance, located in Helsinki or Tampere, Finland. You will lead the group consolidation and reporting process and guide IFRS/GAAP accounting across the organization.

We value a master’s degree, 4+ years in group consolidation, strong IFRS knowledge, and excellent Finnish and English communication. SAP and consolidation systems experience is a plus, and the role offers meaningful development opportunities

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in accounting, finance or economics.
• 4+ years of relevant work experience in group consolidation and IFRS or related accounting.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and Finnish GAAP.
• Ability to manage projects and develop processes independently.
• Proactive mindset with analytical problem-solving.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluency in Finnish and English; additional languages a plus.
• Experience with SAP and consolidation systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead group consolidation and reporting, including consolidated financial statements and monthly, interim and annual reports
• Assess IFRS-related ad-hoc requests and guide Financial Control teams in accounting and reporting
• Interpret IFRS and Finnish GAAP impacts and other regulations
• Develop financial policies and processes and update the group accounting manual
• Monitor compliance with internal controls
• Lead development of consolidation and reporting processes
• Contribute to strategic projects
• Serve as a key user in the group’s consolidation system

What you will do

• Take a leading role in the group consolidation and reporting process and preparation of consolidated financial statements and monthly, interim and annual reports
• Assess and identify solutions for IFRS- related ad-hoc requests and guide Financial Control teams in accounting and reporting topics
• Interpret and analyze implications of accounting standards (IFRS and Finnish GAAP) and other regulations
• Contribute to the development of financial policies and processes as well as updating the group accounting manual
• Follow up on compliance concerning internal controls
• Take a leading role in the development of consolidation and reporting processes
• Contribute to strategic projects
• Act as a key user in the group’s consolidation system

Who you are

• You have at least a master’s degree, preferably in accounting, finance or economics
• You have 4+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in a similar position with responsibilities in group consolidation and IFRS, or proven track record in other financial accounting areas, such as auditing
• You have solid knowledge and practical experience of accounting standards (IFRS and Finnish GAAP)
• You have the ability to manage projects and develop processes independently
• You have a proactive mindset and analytical problem-solving skills
• You have excellent communication and collaboration skills
• You are fluent in Finnish and English, other language skills are considered an advantage
• Experience with SAP and consolidation systems is considered an advantage
