Job summary

Nordea is seeking a versatile Senior IT Developer in Helsinki to tackle hands-on engineering across applications, data, platforms, and automation. You will modernise data warehousing, improve pipelines, and automate workflows while delivering pragmatic, production-ready solutions.

You’ll work across Python, SQL, APIs, and cloud services, collaborating with engineers across the region. The role emphasizes AI-enabled development, continuous learning, and proactive change within a major Nordic bank.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development or data engineering experience.
• Strong programming in Python and SQL with production experience.
• Experience building and operating production solutions in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools (Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Ability to move between application code, data and infra when solving problems.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Solve engineering problems across services, data flows, and automation.
• Design and build maintainable solutions with Python, SQL, APIs and cloud services.
• Evolve data warehousing toward reusable capabilities and end-to-end automation.
• Work across the full delivery lifecycle from design to production support.
• Improve quality and reliability with automated testing, observability and best practices.
