Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build scalable learning platform features, from concept to completion. You will own end-to-end projects, mentor peers, and drive architectural decisions to enhance reliability and performance.

The role emphasizes leadership in cross-functional teams, delivering user-centered products and personalized learning experiences within an AI-enabled stack. Helsinki-based or relocation-friendly.

Qualifications

• At least a decade of experience in software engineering.
• Deep expertise in full-stack development using Node.js, React, and TypeScript.
• Strong product mindset and focus on creating high-quality products.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end projects and breaking down execution plans.
• Proven experience mentoring other developers.
• Ability to manage broad accountability, switch contexts, and solve complex scalability challenges.
• Professional or hobby experience using AI tools; AI-native mindset is a critical requirement.
• Experience with GraphQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB is a bonus.
• Based in the Helsinki capital region or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver scalable, highly reliable front-end and back-end features for the learning platform.
• Develop quizzes, mini-games, interactive layouts, and custom themes.
• Own courses, user learning paths, and agentic workflows from concept to completion.
• Drive performance improvements and make architectural decisions for system reliability.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship.
• Develop team practices and help upskill peers.
• Ship new features and contribute to planning and execution of the product roadmap.
• Lead significant end-to-end technical projects.
• Collaborate with the gamified learning product team to create user-centered products and personalized learning experiences.
