Job summary

Aiven is seeking a Senior frontend-focused full-stack engineer to work on the Aiven Console—the web UI used to explore and control data services. You will lead the development of platform-wide features with a strong emphasis on TypeScript and React.

You will collaborate across design and product teams, contribute to the design system, and mentor junior engineers while improving the API surface as needed. This role demands strong English communication and a proactive, product-minded approach.

Qualifications

• Experience leading the planning, implementation, and rollout of a web-facing feature.
• Excellent development skills in TypeScript and React.
• Hands-on experience with Python and PostgreSQL.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proactive mindset with a product-oriented perspective.

Responsibilities

• Own the Console implementation of platform-wide features such as navigation, onboarding, and the service creation flow.
• Collaborate on the in-house design system to empower Console development.
• Ensure the technical foundation remains robust by driving technical improvements and best practices.
• Extend API functionality as required by new features.
• Mentor and elevate junior engineers through technical guidance and code reviews.
• Engage product, design, and other cross-functional teams to align on feature vision and trade-offs.
