Job summary

Vaisala is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Helsinki to join our Industrial Measurements software team at Vaisala's headquarters in Vantaa, Finland. You will design and implement embedded software for high-precision measurement instruments and collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team.

You will work with ZephyrOS and C/C++ in a role that emphasizes ownership of features and end-to-end delivery, contributing to smarter HVAC and energy-efficient buildings.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in embedded software development, ideally in industrial or instrumentation products.
• Excellent programming skills in C/C++, and experience with embedded operating systems. Hands-on experience with ZephyrOS is a strong plus.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex development tasks, while collaborating effectively with other engineers and scientists.
• Curiosity and a growth mindset to actively explore and apply AI tools in daily work; hands-on AI usage is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded software for measurement devices using ZephyrOS and C/C++.
• Contribute to the development and evolution of the shared software platform.
• Take end-to-end ownership of features and modules in mostly independent project setups.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and troubleshooting to ensure reliable, industrial-grade products.
