Job summary

Eaton in Vantaa, Finland, seeks a Lead Firmware Test Engineer to own firmware verification, validation, and test automation within a global product development environment. You will lead design testing, laboratory activities, and V&V efforts for embedded software in power conversion products, defining test strategies and automation frameworks.

The role combines hands-on test automation with technical leadership, collaborating with firmware, hardware, systems, and validation teams to advance

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master’s in engineering with relevant experience in firmware testing and verification.
Experience leading test or validation teams in high-power environments.
Hands-on lab work with HiL/MiL/SiL validation.

Responsibilities

Define and own test strategies for embedded firmware and system-level validation.
Lead test plan development, specifications, and verification matrices.
Provide direction for manual and automated testing and CI/CD integration.
Lead and contribute to firmware testing for functionality, performance, and safety.
Develop and maintain scalable test automation frameworks (Python, Robot Framework).
Guide root-cause analysis and troubleshoot laboratory tests.
