Insta is seeking (senior) embedded developers to build real-world solutions for industrial automation, autonomous systems, and heavy-duty mobile machinery in Tampere, Finland. As our software consulting business unit continues to grow we’re looking for new (senior) embedded developers to join us in building real-world solutions for industrial automation, autonomous systems, and heavy-duty mobile machinery.

This role is a great fit for someone with solid experience in embedded development, who would like to be part of a forward-thinking embedded software consulting team, where we combine deep technical expertise with a human-centric culture that values curiosity, collaboration, and long-term impact.

The position is based around Tampere, where most of our team and projects are located.

WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON

You can expect technically captivating projects across domains such as industrial automation, heavy machinery, and autonomous vehicles. You’ll collaborate on networked embedded systems, mobile work machines, intelligent sensors and protocols — developing robust, scalable systems that power cutting edge products.

Depending on your background and interests, you can focus on different layers of the technology stack: user interfaces, middleware layers or down in the RTOS and bare-metal end.

• On the GUI & middleware parts, we typically work on Linux-based systems with C++, Qt and QML
• Closer to hardware, the tools of choice are usually C/C++ on embedded Linux, some RTOS or bare metal

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a developer who has a solid foundation in embedded software development.

We hope you have:

• At least five years of experience in embedded software development
• Solid understanding of C++, and either Qt / QML or C and real-time systems depending on your focus
• Proficiency with Linux; experience with Yocto is considered a plus
• Experience working with different communication protocols and field buses — exact technologies aren’t critical, but a genuine passion for embedded tech and openness to work directly with hardware are
• Experience with other programming languages such as Python or C# is a plus
• A mindset geared toward writing clean, efficient and reliable code

Compensation:

Salary is based on your experience and skills, typically within the range of 5000–6000€/month.
