Job summary

Veikkaus Group in Helsinki is seeking a Senior Developer to join the Common Gaming Platforms team. You will develop and maintain the Jackpot gaming system for Veikkaus’ online casino games and its interface with slot machines, in a role that emphasizes quality and maintainability.

The team works in a hybrid model with three on-site days per week and uses Scala, Java, TypeScript, React, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, GitLab, GCP, Linux, and more.

Qualifications

• Strong background with JVM languages, databases and cloud technologies.
• Ability to produce clean code and learn new technologies.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).
• Advantage: 4+ years of software development experience; Finnish language skills.

Senior Developer, Common Gaming Platforms

As a Senior Developer, you will join a team that is responsible for the Jackpot gaming system for Veikkaus’ own online casino games, as well as the system and its user interface that enable communication with Veikkaus’ slot machines. As a member of this team, you will get to develop business-critical systems used by numerous customers and stakeholders.

The team designs, implements, and maintains the services under its responsibility. The keywords are quality and maintainability. The team is responsible for and free to carry out development work using the technologies and methods they deem appropriate. The position is full-time and permanent and located at Veikkaus’ headquarters in Pohjois-Haaga, Helsinki. We work flexibly in a hybrid model with three on-site days per week.

• Have a strong background with JVM languages, databases, and cloud technologies
• Be able to produce clean code
• Be able and willing to learn new technologies
• Be fluent in English (spoken and written)

The technologies and products we use include Scala, Java, MySQL, TypeScript, React, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, GitLab, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Linux, among others. We do not expect you to master all of these.
