Job summary

Veikkaus Oy, based in Helsinki, seeks a Lead Developer to steer product development for DevOps Platforms. You will define the technical roadmap, align with platform strategy, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure smooth adoption of platform services.

The role is based at Veikkaus’ HQ in Pohjois-Haaga, Helsinki, with on-site collaboration three days per week and starting in November 2026.

Qualifications

• Strong web development experience across frontend and backend.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP) and Kubernetes.
• Experience with DevOps tooling and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Product Owners on increment tasks from a technical point of view.
• Technical ownership for configuration and release management toolings.
• Drive continuous improvement and productization of Release and Configuration Management tools.
• Participate in the Technology Platform steering group, contributing to prioritization and strategic direction.

Lead Developer

We're looking for a Lead Developer to lead the product development from technology point of view of our DevOps Platforms, a critical part of our broader Technology Platform offering. The DevOps platforms team builds and manages productized cloud-based release and configuration management tools that enables fast, efficient, and scalable product deployments and configuration management for Veikkaus, and for international B2B customers.

As a Lead Developer you will help define and maintain the roadmap, feature structure, and value proposition of our DevOps Platforms from a technical point of view. You will work closely with different internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with our company-wide platform strategy. You will also collaborate with different stakeholders across product and engineering gathering needs, managing expectations, and supporting the smooth adoption of platform services.

The position is located at Veikkaus’ headquarters in Pohjois-Haaga, Helsinki. To foster collaboration and effective teamwork,we meet at the office three times a week. This is a permanent, full-time position starting in November 2026.

Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Support Product Owners on increment tasks and meetings from technical point of view
• Technical ownership for configuration and release management toolings
• Drive the continuous improvement and productization of Release and Configuration Management tools
• Participate in the Technology Platform steering group, contributing to prioritization and strategic direction-setting

You will thrive in this position if you have proven track record in:

• Web development (e.g., Typescript, React, Go, NestJS, Node.js)
• Cloud infra (preferably GCP) and Kubernetes
• AI-native development with agents
• Terraform, Gitlab pipelines

You are a team player with proactive and forward-looking mindset. You thrive in environment that is constantly changing and you are not afraid of changing plans.

Considered An Advantage If You Have Hands-on Experience In

• IDP toolings, especially Spotify Backstage
• Authentication / information security standards such as OICD / OpenAuth
• Working on multi-tenant SaaS
