Job summary

Nordea in Helsinki is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to take ownership of end-to-end data solutions within the High Risk Change and Development team. You will design data flows, models and pipelines, collaborating across squads to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

You should bring strong SQL and Python skills, experience with Snowflake, dbt and Airflow, and a solid track record in data warehousing and ETL. Hybrid work model and continuous learning are part of our approach.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, information technology, data engineering or relevant technical field.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience with Oracle databases and DataStage ETL.
• Experience with modern data platforms Snowflake, dbt and Airflow.
• Proficient in data modelling.
• Experience with enterprise API integration.
• Solid engineering practices (git, CI/CD, automated testing).
• Growth mindset and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Understand the business domain to effectively understand and build data flows and models supporting data needs and requirements.
• End-to-end ownership of the work from requirement to design, from development to test and release readiness.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues in and outside of the team.
• Set a high standard for robust, stable and maintainable solutions.
• Stay current with AI assisted development and adopt AI to increase efficiency and reliability.
