Job summary

Google LLC is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software in Google’s cutting-edge data centers. The role involves hands-on movement of racks, coordinating with teams, and contributing to networked infrastructure projects.

Strong Linux knowledge and experience in server environments are required. The position supports non-standard hours and may include night shifts and weekends, with opportunities for growth within the AI

Qualifications

Experience with assembly of mechanical or electrical systems or component-level repairs.
Diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer hardware and server hardware.
Experience with Linux operating systems and networking protocols.
Ability to lift 50 lb (23 kg) and work physically over extended periods; include bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling.
Ability to work non-standard hours including weekends, night shifts and holidays.

Responsibilities

Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across teams.
Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot complex equipment or infrastructure.
Maintain security and integrity of data and ensure proper data erasure per security standards.
Disassemble equipment at end-of-life via part replacement or maintenance within teams.
Repair, fix and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
