Job summary

Google LLC is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software in Google’s cutting-edge data centers. The role involves hands-on movement of racks, coordinating with teams, and contributing to networked infrastructure projects.

Strong Linux knowledge and experience in server environments are required. The position supports non-standard hours and may include night shifts and weekends, with opportunities for growth within the AI

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience in maintenance and monitoring of server systems.
• 3 years of experience working within a data center or network operation center environment.
• Experience with performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on IT equipment or in a similar role (e.g., Systems Administration, Network Deployment Engineer, Help Desk Technician, etc.).
• Experience with Linux operating systems.
• Experience in project management and leadership, and collaborating and partnering with teams.

Finland: €58000 - €59000 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across teams.
• Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose somewhat complex issues with equipment or infrastructure as they arise, and applying the resources needed to resolve identified issues.
• Maintain the security and integrity of data, track various forms of media to check for non‑standard data security issues (e.g., data was not properly erased) handled in accordance with Google security standards.
• Disassemble specific equipment that has reached its end‑of‑life via part replacement or maintenance, within one or more teams.
• Repair, fix, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, machines, or infrastructure based on identified issues with multiple solutions, separately.
